Twickenham Cricket Club

Founded 1833 - The Home Of The T's

 TCC 3’s v. North Middlesex CC 3’s – Saturday 21st July

T’s travelled all the way to London N8 under threatening clouds and a forecast which didn’t augur well for a full day’s play. The game however, was eagerly anticipated because the early season encounter had shown very little to choose between the two sides. Twickenham skipper Phil Parker won the toss, in his time honoured tradition for this season, and put the opposition into bat. With opening bowlers Biggs and Grobler in tandem the game commenced but did not last too long. After about four overs the largest, blackest cloud deposited a torrential downpour from which the wicket never recovered. Following much scratching of heads, beards (and asses), consultations of rule books etc. and a very pleasant early tea, the captains agreed that the playing surface would remain too dangerous for bowlers, batters and fielders alike and we all adjourned to the bar (one point each – match abandoned – the fifth of the season for T’s).

Phil Parker.
