Ladies exit the Southern League Knockout Cup

The ladies travelled to Plough Lane,Wallington on Sunday to face
Redoubtable in the 2nd round of the Southern League Knockout cup.  It
was always going to be a tough draw with Redoubtables fielding a host
of
their division one players.  Twickenham ladies having won the toss
elected to field.  All credit to the team who showed an excellent
display of fielding and kept the home side down to 151 from 40 overs
for
4 wickets.  Three of those wickets reflecting how positive the fielding
was by producing 3 superb run outs.  For Redoubtables : Chloe Jackson
made 52, Nisha Patel 38 and Ali Coe 25.  The only wicket taker for
Twickenham was new member Nithu Jayalath who returned excellent figures
of 1 for just 23 runs from 10 overs.

152 was a target that was within capabilities of Twickenham but
Redoubtables showed just why they are in a higher division as their
County bowlers tore into the Twickenham batting line up.   Only Helen
Mills showed any resistance scoring a steady 35 and gave some hope to
Twickenham.  However with wickets falling as the overs progressed, the
run rate and the target became out of reach and Redoubtables sealed
Twickenham's fate in the 37 over when the 10th wicket fell, 56 runs
short of the target

Next weeks sees the ladies enter the Dukesmead 6's at the Civil Service
ground, Chiswick.
