Like dominoes Twickenham fell

Twickenham ladies travelled to Rowledge looking to consolidate their
league challenge. Having won the toss they put Rowledge in on a very
slow and unpredictable pitch.  It had dried considerable well but was
still damp and spongy after all the rains of the previous week.
 Rowledge
made a positive start gathering the runs with almost 5 an over in the
first10 overs.  However, the loss of wickets slowed the momentum right
down and with Twickenham bowlers now not giving much away, they took
 the
upper hand.  Rowledge were contained at 114 for 5 when the innings
closed after 40 overs. For Twickenham Ann Baker took 2 for 2 in 6
 overs,
Katherine Anderson 2 for 36 off 9 overs and Janet Greenhead 1 for 26
from 10 overs.

114 should have been an easy target for the experienced Twickenham bats

to reach.and with 61 on the board for the loss of the first wicket it
looked as if it would be a formality.  All credit to Rowledge as they
prove them wrong.  Like the dominoes effect, Twickenham toppled one
after another.  As the pressure of acquiring the runs mounted, silly
shots and  two run outs all went to Rowledge's advantage.  When
 Rowledge
took the last wicket, Twickenham were disappointingly 16 runs short of
the target.  All credit to Marina Steel for her 37, Baker's 24 and Tee
Hollingsbee's 12

Next week they are at home to Horsham.at Broom Road, Teddington.
