Twickenham Cricket Club

Founded 1833 - The Home Of The T's

Duo of Orford and Mills turned the game in Twickenham's favour.

The chase was on for Twickenham Ladies when they faced Hursley Park on
Sunday in a league match at Broom Road, Teddington. Hursley Park set a
formidable target of 171 for 8 at the end of their 40 overs. Helen
Dryer 44, Charlotte Gallagher 43 and Sarah Conlon being the main
contributors. For Twickenham Ann Baker took 3 for 21 from 8 overs and
Katherine Anderson 2 for 25 from 6 overs.

Hursley Park must have confidently felt the game was going their way as
Twickenham Ladies did not make the best of starts and soon found
themselves in trouble, losing 3 quick wickets for 26 after just 7
overs. However the fourth wicket partnership of Denise Orford and
Helen
Mills turned the match in Twickenham's favour when they added an awe
inspiring 94 to the total. An excellent display of batting and good
running between the wickets left the opposition reeling and when Mills
was finally dismissed for 40 in the 22nd over, the home team were
firmly back in command. Tee Hollingsbee took over from Mills and
together with Orford they wrapped up the match in the 32 overs with
Orford 72 not out. Twickenham ladies won by 6 wickets and keeps them
in third place in division two of the ladies southern league.

Next week sees them travel to Horsham in Sussex to build on the success
of Sunday's league win.
