Saturday 19th June 2010 3s v Eastcote 3s

A shortened match report this week due to a combination of me leaving the scorebook at the club, and not having the enthusiasm to write much about an abject performance,as Twickenham 3’s were brushed aside by a young and vibrant Eastcote side at St Mary’s.

We lost the toss (again!) and were,as usual, asked to bat.Only Colin Blunden with a steady 46 and Mark Smith with a belligerent 37 not out showed anything like the application required as a string of batsmen played poor shots to get out in the face of some lively seam bowling followed by some useful legspin.

T’s total of 161 all out was way short of the required total needed, and this was proved as the visitors cantered home for the loss of just 3 wickets inside 30 overs.

A wicket apiece for Tony Bendelow and Pete Burke and a run out were all the T’s could muster,as their lack of firepower,in particular, was exposed.

With this latest defeat,we slip to 3rd bottom in the table, with next weeks match at fellow strugglers Barnet B’s taking on vital importance
