Saturday 10th and Sun 11th July 2010 Ladies
Saturday saw the Twickenham ladies beat the RAF at their home
ground in Uxbridge by 4 wickets in a friendly match with 21 overs to spare. The RAF were bowled all out for 116 and
Twickenham took just 18.2 overs to score the required runs, with
Camilla Hulf 32 retired out.
On Sunday, in a league game, Twickenham won the toss and elected to bat. The young Holmesdale side didn't give much away and with only 66 on the board half way through the match, it took a 40 not out from Denise Orford ably supported by Marina Steel 23 and Kat Dickens 23 to boost the score to 143 after 45 overs.
For the visitors this should have been an easy target to achieve but two quick wickets showed a determined home side and with Sunny Pottay and Charlotte Gallagher shining with the ball and taking 4 wickets each, it was only the 6th wicket partnership of 50 that gave their score any depth. The 10th wicket falling in 29th over, 27 runs short of the target. Top scorer was Jess Denniff with 47.
