The visit of the MCC is always a special occasion and all at TCC were looking forward to their debut on the Green. The one visitor you nonetheless don't want to see on the day that they arrive is the infamous Duke of Spain. But, sure enough, the rain started falling early and by 3pm the die was cast; play called off for the day.
Shame. But, well, hopefully we can all reconvene next year and try again. Thanks to Clint McCabe for setting everything in motion and particularly to Dave Russell for his Herculean efforts on the day. All very much appreciated.
Given that there is no longer a game scheduled for Friday 10 August, Cricket Week has come to a soggy end. Thanks to everyone who helped make things work and, of course, to everyone who played. We move on to a weekend of league cricket (and hopefully improved weather).
