Rearguard action sees the 5ths secure a hard fought draw at Edmonton

The Ts' players were falling like ninepins. Things started badly when the skipper picked up an injury falling off a guitar stool. Pete Burke then pulled a fetlock before Harmeet Singh experienced a decidedly nasty outbreak of sustained padrash

The 5ths have not had the best of luck results-wise in 2017. But, finally, at the seventh time of asking, they are up and running. They didn't beat Edmonton, but they didn't lose either. And the odd point here and there can make a big difference at the end of the season - the Ts still remain, for example, just one win away from moving out of the 1987 League Division Three relegation zone and every point really could be vital in helping Walker's Wonders ultimately haul themselves out of trouble.

In terms of Saturday's encounter, well, there was (as ever) plenty to keep everyone entertained at Edmonton's Hydeside ground. People were fainting on the sidelines, injuries were piling up everywhere and all this before Paul McLoughlin launched the most stubborn resistance since Michelle Dubois tried to persuade the ever unwilling Rene Artois to almost single-handedly defeat the Nazi machine in Allo Allo.

Add in a marvellous Caribbean flavoured tea and the Ts showing real, genuine, backs-to-the-wall commitment and we have, as you might expect, all the ingredients for a highly entertaining match report. Indeed, this week we even see 5ths supremo, Phil Walker, indulging in a little bit of Caribbean drawl mid-report. Intrigued? See here for more.
