TCC members out in force to get the place spick and span

It was great to see so many TCC members pop down to lend a hand. Every bit of help really does make a difference
- Paul Johnson

The ECB and NatWest come together ever year to help cricket clubs get their grounds up-to-speed pre-season. The 'Cricket Force Day' is usually in late March, but TCC puts on its annual DIY jamboree a little later than that. In 2018 the day in question was Sunday 16th April.

The efforts of Paul Johnson and his team of movers and shakers ensured that TCC's Cricket Force Day proved to be a resounding success. A large number of members from all sections of the club congregated at the pavilion to help straighten things out for the season.

DIY Not-Quite so SOS!
As always, there was plenty to be done. The old wooden sightscreens were broken up and deposited in the skip whilst the inside of the pavilion (main area, toilets, corridors and visitors' dressing room) were all given a lick of paint. Jon Varney's jetwash got a fair old outing, too, as the veranda floor was given a good scrub and the artificial wicket was spruced up. The painting also carried on outdoors with the veranda and adjoining railings getting the once over. Finally, the Ts' array of pictures and memorabilia was returned to the pavilion walls.
