The nights are slowly getting shorter and the days longer. New Year has been and gone. The 2018 cricket season is subsequently getting ever closer.
With that in mind it's high time to start thinking about who we're playing when. Much as has become the way, the Ts will begin their cricketing summer at the Park Club in Acton. The now traditional season opener will take place on Saturday 14th April. The ones then play East Molesey (H) and High Wycombe (A) before rolling in to the league campaign.
The twos follow a similar path, travelling to the banks of the Thames to play East Molesey on Saturday 21 April before welcoming High Wycombe on the last Saturday in April. The threes, meanwhile, start out on their campaign for world domination against Battersea Ironsides (21 April) before travelling to Bucks to play High Wycombe 3s on 28 April.
The Sunday XI will in all likelihood be beginning their campaign at Englefield Green on 22 April. Whilst this fixture still needs to be confirmed, the fact that it's been played every year since about 1825 means that we should be safe to pen it in to the diary. The Sunday XI then travel to Kew the week after. The full list of pre-season fixtures can be seen here.
