520 runs scored on the Green as the Sunday XI squeeze past Temple Eccentrics

Personally, I felt the day was a success as my brother managed to avoid running anyone out. After Saturday's carnage that's not to be sniffed at
- Darshit Mashar

It's hard to imagine a better name for a cricket club than 'Temple Sheen Eccentrics CC' and it was with great pleasure that the Ts welcomed them to the Green for a Sunday friendly. The home side ultimately won out, but not before plenty of runs were scored (see here for the card).

The Sultan Deals with the Swing
The Ts set the ball rolling by posting an impressive 270 off their 40 overs. Riaz Sulthan proved to be the star turn with a splendid 91. As the original Sultans of Swing have said in another context, "he got the action, he got the motion, yeah, the boy can play". If you haven't got a clue what I'm going on about, don't worry, I can assure you you're not missing much ...

Moving on, and Sulthan's impressive knock to one side, Anir Guharaja (45) and Nikhil Nomula (40) also chipped in nicely as the Ts made hay whilst the sun shone. Solid 20s from Darshit Mashar and Dom Thamby (opening the batting!) also helped the Ts' total go north of 250.

Mashared
In return, the visitors certainly went for the win, M. Nicholls (65no) providing most of the impetus before he eventually ran out of partners. The Mashar brothers did much of the damage with the ball, helping themselves to 4-43 (Darshit) and 3-45 (Mohit). Nikhil Nomula also pouched a couple of poles for good measure. Temple ultimately fell 21 short.

Well done to one and all, excellent stuff. There are a couple more Sunday friendlies planned on the Green over the next few weeks, do simply advise via the website if you're keen on playing.
