Tom Field sets the pace in TCC Fantasy League

The 2018 TCC Fantasy League is up and running. Eugene Berger is the intellectual and organisational powerhouse behind this, so thanks to the Botswanan Bosher for setting it up.

Each of participants picks 11 TCC players to battle it out on the field on their behalf. As you'd expect, you have to have a requisite number of batters, bowlers and all-rounders as well as a keeper. Points are accrued for runs scored, wickets taken and indeed catches snaffled. You also lose points for ducks.

As things stand, Devon's finest, Tom Field, is leading the pack (see here). He is currently a healthy 126 points ahead of TCC's resident giraffe (the wounded), Andy Donelan. Field's go to men last week were Don Manuwelge (83 points), Jakob Bhula (77 points) and JP Bowman (62 points). Donelan's charge has been led by first-team all-rounder (cough, cough) Kev Cavilla (76 points) and Hinay Dassani (38 points). Interestingly, Donelan also has Field in his side ... nowt's getting past him though. Field's -5 points from Saturday helped him strengthen his own lead!

In terms of which TCC player has scored the most points this season thus far, well, the ever-reliable Hinay Dassani (149) is top of the pile. Given that he's bowled around 7,000 league overs in 2018 thus far I guess we shouldn't be surprised. Kev Cavilla (134) is nonetheless chasing him down whilst Cling McCabe (115) is third in the ladder.

As things stand, 15 teams have been entered. Keep an eye on progress, if only to see who has picked you to be part of their respective army.
