Friday sees an attractive friendly on the Green

Surely you simply have to bowl first if a big curry lunch is on offer between innings, right?

Cambidge University CC are in town
Midweek cricket used to be in plentiful supply, but, with everyone getting so much busier than they used to be, it's now very much on the wain. Indeed, evening T20s and Cricket Week to one side, the Ts organise very few games between a Monday and Friday.

One exception to this takes place on Friday 15 June (i.e. this week). The Ts welcome Darshan Chohan and his Cambridge University side to the Green for an attractive-looking 40 over encounter. The start time is 11am, there's a Green Spice pit-stop in the middle and all being well the game will finish around 17h30/18h00. Do pop down if you're in the hood. There should be some good cricket on show.

Cricket outside, World Cup Football inside
The pavilion will be open all day and all three of Friday's World Cup football games will be on show. It's probably fair to say that Egypt v Uruguay (1pm) and Iran v Morocco (4pm) may not have the good burghers of SW London jumping out of their seats, but Spain v Portugal at 7pm - particularly now that Spain have just gone and sacked their manager - does look like it'll be an intriguing affair. Do pop down to have a pint and take it in.
