Five Twickenham sides in action and that's despite the 5s having already won!

Getting a 6th XI out is a decent effort; respect due to Pete Burke and Paul McLoughlin for leading on that
- Eugene Berger

With rain in the air it’s not clear quite how much cricket is going to be played this coming weekend, but all of the Twickenham sides will be hoping the weather holds and they get to hear the sound of bat on ball.

Ones travel to Harrow St Mary’s
The first XI will be looking to make it four wins on the bounce when they travel to the Millhillians’ Sports Ground in Harrow to play HSM. Their hosts may be bottom of the log, but Carlos Nunes and his side will certainly not be taking a victory for granted.

An impressive win against Teddington in Week 10 nonetheless means that the Ts will certainly be travelling in both hope and expectation. The Ts may still be joint seventh in the table (see here), but they have closed the gap to those above them considerably. Indeed, they are now within touching distance of the top half.

Nunes nonetheless finds himself making a few changes. Abi and Parminder Singh are both out, but Ishi Sohi comes back in to add a bit of fire and brimstone. Josh Hinde steps up from the twos, whilst the evergreen Dave Russell makes his seasonal debut in the ones.

The side is Carlos Nunes, Rhys Davies, Val Giraud, Josh Hinde, Ben Leale-Green, Don Manuwelge, Scott Newman, Dave Russell, Ishi Sohi, Ethan Wright and George Yates.

Twos play HSM on the Green
The twos took the strain last week at Indian Gym, coming away with a draw against their high-flying opponents. This week they take on HSM, a side are currently 7th, two points and one place behind the Ts (see here); so, a game for both sides to target if they want to make progress up the table.

Mo Ahmad comes in behind the stumps for Eugene Berger’s side, whilst the spin triumvirate of Berger, Tom Field and Nakul Vishvanath is back in harness. Brandon Newman will also be looking to continue his impressive progress with the ball. Batting-wise, Ajmal Allahdad is quietly rising to the challenge of regularly scoring runs whilst Lewis Mitchard also has plenty to offer (with both bat and ball). The 2s have the players, but do they have the application? We’ll see on Saturday.

The side is Eugene Berger, Mo Ahmad, Ajmal Allahdad, Eugene Berger, Sam Cliffe, Tom Field, Lewis Mitchard, Brandon Newman, Nikhil Nomula, Dan Taylor, Dom Thamby and Nakul Vishvanath.

Threes visit Hornsey
Steve Watts’s third XI came off second best in last week’s encounter with top-of-the table Ealing, although that wasn’t for the lack of trying. The bowlers in particular did an impressive job of limiting their high-flying opponents, the question is can the batters begin to back them up?

The threes certainly have batting on which to call. Steve Cowley has scored runs for the seconds this season, whilst the skipper himself has been digging in at the top of the order. Harry Grinstead scored a sublime hundred for the MDL side not so long ago and Connor Finney is, as they say, due.

Hornsey, meanwhile, are bottom of the table and struggling. A good time for the Ts to re-assert themselves and begin moving north in the table (see here)?

The side is Steve Watts, Anu Agarwal, Robbie Bosier, Steve Cowley, Connor Finney, Harry Grinstead, Fahriar Hasan, Dan Hough, Ozzie Qavi, Hayden Tyler and Kit Wilson

Fours welcome Ealing 5s
The fours will be looking to continue their imperious form when they welcome Ealing 5s to Broom Road. Ealing are currently 9th (see here), but Hinay Dassani and his side know better than to read too much in to that. Ealing are never to be underestimated at any level.

Colin Blunden and the not out maestro, Nihal Tomar, firmly stamped their authority on last week’s proceedings, and they’ll be looking to continue their good form in to Week 11. The Big Tackle offers something with bat and ball, whilst debutant Dave Jones will also be looking to hit the ground running. Vijay Sanas, fresh from six wickets in the 5ths last week, is also likely to be a man to keep an eye on.

The side is Hinay Dassani, Stuart Amos, Colin Blunden, JP Bowman, Hiran Dissanayake, Martin Fairn, Tony Hill, Dave Jones, Vijay Sanas, Nihal Tomar and Chetan Ubale.

5ths have already won, sixths travel to Old Hs
The 5ths will already be smoking their proverbial Cuban cigars; Harrow Town cried off on Thursday, gifting the Ts 12 points. That pushes the fives above Harrow Town and (at least for now) in to the top half of the table (see here).

The sixths, meanwhile, travel to take on Old Hamptonians' 5th XI. The side, as is only right, is an eclectic mix of talent. Pete Burke is leading the troops, whilst Paul McLoughlin offers experience and batting obstinacy a plenty. Zafar Ali will no doubt contribute with bat and ball, whilst Nisar Abidi will be looking to build on a good start for the Ts.

Importantly, the side is also full of youth. Luke Jefferies from the U17s is in, as is Anthony Jones from the U15s. Frankie Lingemann and Hamish Johnson will also be looking to show that they have what it takes to make a mark in senior cricket. Very best of luck to them all.

Go well everyone!
