Hinay Dassani leads a flagging set of troops in to battle

I'm a little worried that some of the players may be feeling the worse for wear following earlier Cricket Week games. Given that, well, I may be obliged to open both the batting and bowling.
- Hinay Dassani

Day Four of the TCC Cricket Week sees neighbours Old Hamptonians visit the Green. Even though Hamptonians are based little more than three miles away, fixtures between the sides have been few and far between of late. That’s changed in 2019 with the clubs meeting in the Middlesex Development League and now again as part of Cricket Week.

Hamptonians come in force
Hamptonians will be skippered by Matt Bendelow. Bendelow, fresh from scoring 64 for the 1987 League Rep side yesterday, is by some considerable distance the old stager in the side. Indeed, the Old H team has a decidedly youthful look about it.

The Cecil brothers are both in decent nick whilst Jacob Doherty and Ben Dowse have both come through (apparently strenuous) fitness tests. Ciaran Doley is also in the side; the TCC MDL players may well remember him, he boshed the ball around very effectively in the game on the Green earlier in the year.

Dassani leads the Ts in to battle
The Ts side covers the whole gambit of Saturday teams. 4th XI skipper Hinay Dassani will be leading the troops with 2nd XI skipper Eugene Berger his understudy. Berger will no doubt be looking to pick up tips on how best to recruit players from such wide and varied places as bus stops and check out queues at Tesco’s.

Phil Nash, fresh from scoring a century earlier in the week, is in, whilst the twos are well-represented via Sanjit Sandhu and Nakul Vishvanath. Nihal Tomar, the red-ink-king, will also be playing, whilst Ozzie Qavi will be looking to continue his good work from the day before against the 1987 League.

Go well one and all.
