Leo Carter and Jakob Bhula face down Jofra Archer in England warm up game

Now is probably the time to reveal that I gave Jakob a one-to-one class on six-hitting. He's obviously a good listener

It's not often that club sides get to see former players take on international opposition. This week Twickenham CC has been lucky enough to see not just one but two former players turn out for a New Zealand XI that took on England in Whangarei on 11/12 November.

Leo Carter, a man who turned out for the Ts in 2015, captained the New Zealand XI whilst Jakob Bhula, a star of the Ts' 2018 campaign, grabbed the hosts' batting headlines by notching 61 against the full might of Jofra Archer, Stuart Broad and Ben Stokes (see here for the card).

Carter fell early to Archer (no disgrace there), but Buhla managed to hold his own for more than a while. Indeed, at one point he even managed to smack Archer over point for six. Quite what Buhla was thinking as Jofra ran in to bowl his next ball is not yet known, but one would suspect the 'dodge out of the way' shot may have been on his mind!

In all seriousness, it's really pleasing to see players who've turned out for the Ts doing so well. Keep up the good work, fellas.
