Andrew Strauss has many sporting accolades against his name. Captain of back-to-back Ashes winning England teams, leading England to the number one slot in the world and thrashing India 4-0 in a Test series along the way. He's basically done it all.
Strauss or Williamson; it's going to be tight!
All, that is, except go toe-to-toe with Kane Williamson in a 3km challenge. Strauss might be a fraction older, but he's certainly kept himself fit. Given that, would he able to do better than the mighty Kiwi's 13m07. Strauss reveals all here!
Regardless of the actual times that everyone involved in the 3km challenge has been registering, it's been great to see so many folks getting involved. President Jon Varney - new hip and all - plodded methodically round the green grass of Sunbury Cricket Club on Friday night to register an impressive 18m14. Dan Housego, speedster that he evidently still is, zoomed around in 11m34, the second fastest time so far. Great stuff.
From Miami to Calgary and beyond
Former TCC player of yesteryear (defined as 20 years ago now), Ian Werner, chipped in with 14m23 from Miami, whilst Al Storey in Calgary is braving the elements later today to do his stint. Or maybe he'll opt to do it on a treadmill rather than through the Canadian snow. We'll no doubt see. There's also been generous donations from those who aren't so keen on the running bit. Alan Leale-Green deserves a special mention there.
This weekend is officially the last weekend of the challenge. Once all the times are in, the results will be revealed. Watched this space for more info.
