Final round of senior warm up games incoming

Three games for the Ts against Kew on Saturday

The average age of my side is around 35 although me to one side hardly anyone is between the ages of 25 and 45!

League cricket incoming
April is coming to an end and that means that Middlesex County Cricket League (MCCL) action is just round the corner. With that in mind three Twickenham sides take to the field on Saturday 29 April in what represents the last chance to get some game-time in before the start of the league season.

Ones welcome Kew to Twickenham Green
There was a time when the Ts would regularly play Kew in pre-season. Kidron Thomas would amble in off his long run and the likes of Andy Barnes and JP Cronje would be doing all they possibly could to avoid hooking and pulling on wet April tracks.

None of Thomas, Barnes and Cronje are likely to be in action on Saturday, but there are plenty of other players on show who'll be looking forward to getting into the groove.

Carlos Nunes and the first XI are looking in decent enough shape. An encouraging win at Horsham last time out means they go into this particular fixture with the aim of getting more of the squad decent game time.

Nunes finds himself making two changes. One top order bat from Yorkshire (Patrick Dixon) is away on other business, so another (Callam Goldthorpe) comes in to replace him. Mayank Malhotra, an excellent prospect from Delhi, also comes in to make his Ts' debut. He replaces the unavailable Neville Talbot. Cameron Fraser, the Ts' new South African addition, is also in what looks like an exciting 12.

Kick off is midday and the full 1st XI squad is Carlos Nunes, John Fisher, Cameron Fraser, Callam Goldthorp, Ben Leale-Green (wk), Mayank Malhotra, Don Manuwelge, Adam Mather, Angus McKenzie, Akash Multani, Preet Patel and Gurjit Sandhu

Twos travel to Kew Green
The twos make the short journey over to Kew. Expect a few TCC stalwarts to be taking in at least the first hour of this game on Kew Green before making their way a few hundred metres over Kew Bridge to watch Brentford play Nottingham Forest.

On the field, Nakul Vishvanath shuffles his pack a little. The Ts had a decent run out against SKLPC last week, but Vishvanath will be conscious that they didn't really put too many runs on the board. Hopefully things will change this time round.

The twos have an inexperienced look about them. That, however, means that a number of folks will have chances to impress. Alex Waddell will be keen to get some early season runs on the board, whilst Max Hunt, Imran Niazi and Monish Malhotra will all be eager to show what they can do. VP Singh also steps up and he'll be looking to make his mark with the new cherry.

The 2nd XI is Nakul Vishvanath, Mo Ahmad, Anir Dontula, Max Hunt, Dave Jones, Tapan Kumar, Monish Malhotra, Imran Niazi, Sanjit Sandhu, VP Singh and Alex Waddell.

Threes host Kew at Broom Road
The threes will be looking to finally get on the field. They host Kew IIIs at Broom Road.

As ever, Hinay Dassani's side is a mixture of the young and exuberant alongside those of a rather finer vintage. Colin Blundon, Martin Fairn and Shah Bozdar definitely fit into the latter category, but the likes of Woody Fowler, Alfie Gales and Jarryd Knot are certainly in the former.

The game kicks off at 1pm and the 3rd XI is as follows; Hinay Dassani, Colin Blundon, Shahahan Bozdar, Hiran Dissanayake, Martin Fairn, Woody Fowler, Alfie Gales, Nilsh Gajjar, Jarryd Knot, Mo Khizer and Prakash Mohan.

Go well everyone!
