The Twickenham U13s had something of a slow start to the season. But, things are quickening up. Indeed, their Ronnie Riddett inspired win over Ashford on 31 May took them up into second place in the Division 2 ladder (see here).
Bish, bash, bosh
The star man was once again skipper Ronnie Riddett. He blasted his way to an undefeated 102 off just 62 balls. He's now had five innings in this current league campaign, and has managed three half centuries and two tonnes; 413 runs in total. That puts him the small matter of 222 runs ahead of the next highest run-getter in the league, Jack Bailey from Sheen Park. Quite the effort.
Riddett, however, cannot do it all on his own (see here for the card). Ishaan Jain took 2-28 with the ball, Jake Hendry was impressively parsimonious during his spell with the new cherry (1-12 off 4). Anay Singh and Max Totti-Grant were also in wicket-taking mode.
That left the Ts chasing 148 to win. Austin Belshaw and Riddett added 44 for the first wicket, Ishan Gupta and Riddett then finished the job off by adding 104 between them. Batting is about partnerships, and Gupta played his part just by being there as Riddett ran riot.
Next up for the Ts? Fourth-placed Barnes on Tuesday....
