The 2026 season is rumbling towards us at a rate of knots. And, we're all here for it. The senior 1st XI will be competing in the highest tier of Middlesex cricket; the Premier Division of the Middlesex County Cricket League (MCCL). That follows promotion from Division One at the end of 2025.
The 2nd XI were also promoted last year. They, too, will therefore be competing against the best sides in their respective tier (i.e. of all other second XIs).
The 3rd XI, 4th XI and 5th XI all play in the MCCL's 3rd XI. All three will be looking to put in strong performances so as to keep climbing the ladder.
Annual 'Freezer Match' kicks things off on 18 April
Tradition has it that Twickenham begin their league preparations by locking horns with old friends, Acton. And that tradition will most certainly be upheld on 18 April; the sides meet at the Acton Sports Club on 18 April. It'll likely be about -10, but the sides will still be giving it a good go.
Three Twickenham sides are in action the week after. All three play Barnes in what Paul Stubbs, one of the movers and shakers at the Lonsdale Road club, fondly (?) terms the A316 derby. Well, if Palace and Brighton can name their rivalry after a big road, so can Barnes and the Ts. The first XIs will meet at Barnes, the twos and threes will meet at The Green and Broom Road respectively.
Weybridge join the pre-season fixture list
The final round of pre-season fixtures see Twickenham play another side that plays Green cricket; Weybridge.
As things stand, two games are planned there, both on 2 May; Twickenham's second string are at home. However, if availability looks strong then more games can certainly be organised. Ts players need to get posting availability on pitchero there so decisions can be made.
Then, on 9 May league campaigns begin. Bring it all on.
