The Tuesday of Cricket Week sees the Ts move from the 'traditional' all day format to the newest and brashest form of the game, T20. And, we welcome a new set of opponents to the Green in the form of Old Wimbledonians.
Wimbledonians are based in Raynes Park and currently play in Division 3 of the Surrey Championship. They are likely to be no pushovers, containing in their ranks West Indies U19 wicketkeeper/batsman Joshua da Silva (who's currently averaging 74 in league cricket) and impressive strokemaker Tim Sealy-Fisher (averaging a mere 48.3).
The Ts got to see Sealy-Fisher for themselves last week when he stylishly guested during our game at Banstead on Friday (see here). The side Wimbledonian bring to the Green looks like it'll be decent, with club stalwarts Trev Evans, Dion Redelinghuys and Vik Nigam scheduled to be in the opposition ranks.
The Ts, meanwhile, call on players with experience across all of their Saturday sides. Tom Grundy and the hard-hitting Rhys Davies fly the flag for the ones, although MDL skipper Nikhil Nomula, Tom Field and Eugene Berger have also played first XI cricket this year. James Joyce and Arvind Shidlagatta, meanwhile, will fry the flag proudly for the 5th XI.
Come what may, the bar will be open from 1730 and the game kicks off at 1800. Do pop down if you can.
The TCC side is:
Eugene Berger (c), Stuart Amos, JP Bowman, Shreeraj Chauhan, Rhys Davies, Tom Field, Tom Grundy, James Joyce, Nikhil Nomula, Arvind Shidlagatta, Nakul Vishvanath
