All at Twickenham CC are delighted to announce that former England international, Monty Panesar, has joined the Ts.
Monty won't need any introduction to cricket fans in the MCCL (or indeed elsewhere); a dazzling dismissal of Sachin Tendulkar in 2012, a famous last stand against Australia in Cardiff in 2009 plus the small matter of 167 Test wickets are calling cards that very few cricketers can match.
One of England's finest spinners comes to Twickenham via the MA in Sports Journalism that he's currently undertaking at St Mary's College. That's part of the next stage in his career, the move to professional sports broadcaster. Monty is also helping to develop junior cricketers at Twickenham CC; that means helping out with coaching and player development as well as doing all he can to bring more people in and around TW2 into the game.
Monty made his debut for the Ts in the T20 at Teddington on Wednesday 5 May (see here) and all being well he'll enjoy his first league outing at Richmond on 8 May. Watch this space for more on his progress with the Ts.
