Way back in 2004 Twickenham faced off against Osterley in the Middlesex Cup final at Winchmore Hill. The Ts put up a good fight that day, but ultimately Osterley came out on top.
Since then Twickenham's Middlesex Cup story hasn't been particularly auspicious. Indeed, it's well over a decade since they got to the quarter-finals, let alone the final.
Given all that, Sunday's trip to Acton looks ever more interesting. Acton are not to be taken lightly, but at this stage of the tournament playing a side that's not in the top flight is always something of a bonus. Will the Ts be able to step up to the plate and book a place in the semi-finals (against Teddington)? Time will tell.
The Ts will be travelling relatively strong. Skipper Carlos Nunes is unavailable, but the vast majority of the squad has good first XI experience. Pat Dixon leads the troops, Don Manuwelge will be his able assistant.
The Ts will be picking from the following squad of 12; Pat Dixon, Faf Fourie, Preet Himanshukumar, Tom Hopkins, Margin Kantilal, Don Manuwelge, Akash Multani, Nikhil Nomula, Varad Rampal (wk), Neville Talbot, Callum Watson and Ethan Wright.
Go well, everyone.
