The Twickenham CC Women rounded off an excellent 2026 campaign with a fine victory against Chiswick (see here for the card). The win means that Twickenham finish second in Division Three North and indeed are all set to be promoted as a result (see here for the table). Great stuff!

Abbott and Wilton lead the way with the bat
The Ts batted first against Chiswick, and they'll have been pleased with the 182 that they put on the board.

Kimberley Abbott (50no off 47) got the Ts off to their now customary good start, Karen Wilton followed suit lower down with an impressive 49 (73 balls). Jug evasion from the coach of the Twickenham CC Girls' sides? One can only speculate....

With 'keeper Angela Clark and skipper El Doherty also getting into double figures, the Ts were soon well set. Shout out nonetheless to Chiswick's Isabel Miller; 3-24 was a decent effort on her part.

Doherty leads from the front
In reply Chiswick lost a wicket two balls in and in truth never really got going. Aisha Bibi (17 off 14) looked to make hay, while Sophie Dannreuther (12 off 28) dug in.

They, however, represented the highlights for the visitors. El Doherty raced in to claim a splendid 4-24, Betty Cassidy backed the skipper up nicely with 2-20. Priti Dey (2-4) only bowled 12 balls, but that was time enough for her to take a couple of wickets, while Wilton and Rachael Lea also saw some wicket-taking action. That all contributed to Chiswick ending on 78.

Cricket is a team game, but there is also plenty of scope for individuals to shine. With that in mind, shout out to Kimberley Abbott. She ended up leading run scorer in the division (348 runs at a stonking average of 116). El Doherty also matched that with the ball; she heads the league's wickets taken stats (14 at an average of 11.4).
