The TCC Women finally got their season up and running on Sunday 18 May, enjoying a win in a close contest with Old Rutlishians (see here for the card).
Hannah Munday, co-captain of the Ts, tells the story....
"Twickenham Women’s CC put on a resilient display in their season opener against Old Rutlishians Women, securing a well-earned victory. Despite facing a strong and testing bowling attack, Twickenham’s batters showed great determination, with Aditi Sahoo delivering a standout performance—retiring at 60 before returning to the crease to guide the team to victory, finishing with an impressive 69 runs.
On the bowling front, it was a true team effort. Debutant Rachael Lea made an unforgettable entrance, claiming a hat-trick in her very first match. She was well-supported by flawless spells from Betty Cassidy and Priti Dey, who each took two wickets, while Janet Hopper added another to the tally.
Overall, it was a performance that showcased Twickenham’s growing confidence, teamwork, and sheer love for the game".
