Twickenham's Women's XI continues good run of form

Twickenham's Women's XI continues good run of form

Ts defeat Beddington by 131 runs to stay top of the league

The Twickenham CC Women's XI continue to fly high in the Surrey Women's Cricket League Div 3 (North). An impressive win at Beddington on 8 June saw them move three points clear of Streatham & Marlborough (see here) at the top of the ladder.

Sahoo and Munday to the fore
Aditi Sahoo (61) and co-skipper Hannah Munday (60) were the stars of the batting show. Betty Cassidy (17) also chipped in nicely as the Ts went big and posted a bombastic 177 off their 30 overs (see here for the card).

Beddington knew that they were going to have to bat really well to chase that sort of total down. The Ts, meanwhile, knew that bowling straight and taking chances when they came would be enough to see them home.

Isabella Keith (11) did what she could for the hosts, but the Ts' bowlers soon took firm control of proceedings. Betty Cassidy (3-14) led the way, Aditi Sahoo (2-3 off 4 overs) and Eleanor Doherty (1-8 off 4) offered able support. Priti Dey and Emily Cramby also had decent days with ball in hand.

The Ts now have a week off before entering the fray again on 22 June. They then host Southwark Park on the Green, 14h kick off.
