U12s end their campaign with 19 run win over Hampton Hill

U12s end 2025 with an impressive win

The Twickenham CC U12s have had an impressive season. They won nine games and lost just the one. That sort of form leads to titles being won (see here for the table). Respect due.

Theo Brown goes big
Their final game of the season was against old friends Hampton Hill (see here for the card). The Hill won the toss and decided to have a bowl. The Ts' batters subsequently knuckled down to the task at hand.

Theo Brown opened the batting and he used the opportunity to rattle up his highest score of the season; he hit nine fours and a six on his way to 57 (off 61 balls). That nearly doubled his previous best of 29, scored just two weeks previously against Teddington.

Our loyal friend Mr E.Xtras contributed 36, but him to one side it was 'keeper batsman Austin Belshaw (38no off 26) who also caught the eye. That, too, was Belshaw's best score in Twickenham colours.

The Hampton Hill bowlers spread the wickets around, with Owen Fay (1-9 off 2) arguably being the pick of them. The Ts subsequently closed on 146-5.

Anay Singh stands tall in the field
In reply Hampton Hill got off to a reasonable enough start, and at 23-0 it looked like they'd set themselves a decent base.

Anay Singh was the man to throw a spanner in that particular works; he chipped in with a caught & bowled and a bowled that slowed Hampton Hill's momentum down. With Shay Patel bowling Theo Smith for 13, and Austin Belshaw running out Owen Fay for 9, 23-0 had quickly become 38-4.

To his credit, Jack Northey hit back with 32 (off 34 balls) for the Hill, but that only led to Dylan Palmer (a miserly 2-7 off 2) responding admirably for the Ts. With Gonzalo Sanz-Costano (1-17) also grabbing a wicket, the Ts were doing enough to throttle the Hampton Hill chase. Ultimately, they closed 19 short on 127.

It's been an excellent season for the U12s. Lots of good cricket, lots of enjoyable evenings and, of course, a championship pennant to soon be acquired. Excellent stuff, one and all.
