U13As win convincingly against Richmond B

Nicholas Williams leads from the front as U13As win by 52 runs

The U13s mainted their impressive league form by registering a 52 run win over Richmond B on 21 May (see here for the card). That win means they are four wins from four and 13 points clear at the top of Division Two (see here for the table).

Williams impresses with the bat
The Ts' strategy of late has been to bat first and stack the runs up. That strategy again worked well as Twickenham took first hit and put Richmond under real pressure.

Nicholas Williams led the way by hitting 11 boundaries in an impressive 53. Finn Fowler (23) and Jack Loynes (24) also kept the momentum going as the Ts really piled on the runs. Those performances enabled the Ts to put an imposing 195 on the board.

Neaverson soliders on
In reply, Richmond didn't lose many wickets but it wasn't long before they were slipping very much behind the rate.

Iago Sanchez did all he could, and his 34 was the mainstay of the innings. Wickets for Loynes and Buzz Trent slowed Richmond down a bit, as did a couple of run outs.

One of those run outs was orchestrated by Tom Neaverson, a player battling gamely away behind the stumps despite damaging his finger in the process. Respect due there.

Arthur Dyer also came impressively to the party. He gave little away and only conceded five runs from his two overs. Decent stuff.

The side now has a little break. Their next fixture isn't until the other side of half-term when, on 12 June, they travel to Barnes.
