U13s come out second best in cup QF against Fulham

Ts come out on the wrong end of low-scoring thriller

Sometimes it's the low-scoring games that are the most exciting ones. Does Twickenham U13s' cup contest against Fulham fit the bill? Yes, it does (see here for the card).

Ts struggle gamely with the bat
The Ts may have only put 76 on the board, but when Fulham were 23-5 it really did look an unlikely win might be on the cards.

Ronnie Riddett was, as ever, at the centre of the Ts' batting effort. He scored 23 in 26 balls and was moving nicely before Raehan Baharmi bowled him.

Would other Ts' players be able to step up to the plate? Well, 'keeper batter Jack Cornelius certainly tried. He also posted 23, and off just one ball more than Riddett.

Twickenham nonetheless found the Fulham bowling attack tough to handle. The Siddiqui brothers, Subhan (1-9 off 3) and Insha (1-12 off 2), were potent with the new ball, but it was Baharmi who really caught the eye. 4-13 off 4 is a decidedly decent effort.

Douglas-Kotey stands tall for Fulham
Defending 76 is never easy. But, the Twickenham 1st XI defended 78 the other week (against Shepherd's Bush) so anything is possible.

And, when Fulham found themselves 23-5 Twickenham really did have their tails up. Jake Hendry (2-18) had done most of the damage, although Shay Patel, Anay Singh and Ronnie Riddett had also chipped in with wickets.

Fulham, however, found a cool head and a calming influence in Nathaniel Douglas-Kotey. He came in at 7 and scored a game-clinching 31 (off 25 balls).

Theo Brown did his best to disrupt the flow, removing Ozzie Dodd for six, but ultimately it was Bodhi Ings-Williams and Subhan Siddiqui who were left to edge Fulham over the line.

Decent contest, close game. Good stuff all round.
