Nicholas Williams leads the way as Ts win by 81 runs

The U13s sauntered to an 81 run triumph against Hampton Hill on Tuesday 6 May. Nicholas Williams (a blistering 79 off just 47 balls) and Jack Burston (3-15) lead the way, although plenty of other folks chipped in nicely.

Openers set the tone

The U13s came away from their cup encounter with Richmond a little bruised. They have nonetheless picked themselves up and got right back into the groove. They certainly impressed on 6 May, putting in a bombastic performance against near-neighbours Hampton Hill (see here for the card).

The Ts' opening pair of Nicholas Williams and Uzair Vali set the tone, putting on 96 before Charlie Carlin had Vali caught by brother Harry for 30 off 41. Vali's departure didn't put Williams off, and he continued to up the ante impressively.

By the time he was eventually out (bowled by Harry Carlin) the Ts were on their way to a daunting 172. Jack Loynes chipped in with a nice cameo at the end, as did both Dani Zouheir and 'keeper Thomas Neaverson. Both scored at quicker than a run a ball. Decent stuff.

Burston leads the way with the ball
Skipper Matt Juniper knew that if Hampton Hill were going to get anywhere near 172 then they needed to start quickly. Juniper certainly led from the front, although once Uzair Vali dismissed him for 21 (off just 14 balls) the hosts realised that this was unlikely to be their day.

Stanley McEwan reached double figures, but excellent bowling from Jack Burston (3-15), Evan Davies (2-15), Vali (2-9), Arthur Dyer (2-14) and Buzz Trent (1-10) saw the Ts home with room to spare.

The win leaves the Ts sitting pretty at the top of Division 2 of the U13 league (see here). Next up are (an also unbeaten) Wycombe House B on Monday 12 May.
