U15s come off second best against Teddington Town

Dan Hough7 Jun - 08:35

Ts keep at it, but Teddington Town ultimately get home with a bit to spare

The Twickenham CC U15s travelled to Teddington Town on 6 June. They put in a decent effort, but ultimately came home with the silver medal (see here for the card).

Moira to the fore
Teddington Town's U15s have been having a decent campaign. They currently sit second in the Division Two table, 12 points behind an unbeaten Indian Gymkhana side (see here for the ladder).

The Ts therefore knew they were facing a fair old challenge when they travelled over to Bushy Park on Friday night. With that in mind, putting 122 on the board certainly wasn't the worst effort in the world.

Things didn't start particularly well though. Opener Ryyah Ali had to retire hurt early on, whilst Daniel Gladwell and James Hazard came and left all too quickly.

George Moira was the man to come in and stabilise things. He scored 39 (off 46 balls) and held the middle order together. Skipper Jack Skan-Turner (12) also got into double figures as the Ts pushed north of 100. Will Stead (1-10 off 4) was the pick of the Teddington Town bowlers.

Teddington Town in control
The Teddington Town response was a solid affair. All of the Town top order got in and made a contribution, and that helped the score tick along nicely.

Guradaes Singh (32 off 32) led the way before he was bowled by Aaron Denton, skipper Stead (20 off 13) and Jake Hughes (18no off 14) supported him ably.

Jack Walker led the way for the Ts; he ended wicketless, but his four overs didn't yield many runs. Daniel Gladwell and Baxter Prescott-Brann joined Denton in claiming wickets, but ultimately Teddington Town got home with a little to spare.

Next up for the Ts are Barnes, on the Green on Wednesday 11 June.
