U15s ease past Hampton Wick Royal

U15s ease past Hampton Wick Royal

Dan Hough17 May - 09:12

Moira and Skan-Turner see the Ts home

The Ts moved into the next round of the cup by defeating Hampton Wick Royal by seven wickets on 16 May (see here for the card). George Moira and Jack Skan-Turner starred, although solid performances all round did much to help the cause.

Jack Walker catches the eye
Twickenham won the toss and had little hesitation in asking Hampton Wick Royal to have a bat. The wickets hardly fell in droves, but the Ts did a decent job of keeping things in check.

Opener Sam Diggins (22 in 39 balls) led the way for the Royals, although our old friend Mr W.Ides also contributed a solid 33. When the Ts did get it straight, things worked pretty well. Jack Walker in particular stood out (3-21 off 4), while Baxter Prescott-Brann (1-7 off 2) also contributed nicely.

117 to win represented a decent target to be chasing.

Solid batting by the Ts
The Ts rose to the challenge of chasing that down impressively. All five batters reached double figures as the visitors eased themselves into a winning position.

George Moira (28 off 35) and Jack Skan-Turner (20no off 19) caught the eye, whilst Jack Walker was batting nicely at the end (13no off 16). Between them they saw the Ts home with seven balls to spare.

The win sees the U15s play Indian Gym or Barnes in the next round. They meet on 22 May for the honour of travelling to the Green.....
