Much to play for as Ts enter business end of the season

Drama's pre-ordained on what is sure to be a fascinating day's cricket
- Dan Hough

Week 17 and four Ts' sides are battling to save their respective skins.

The game of the day in Middlesex's ECB Premier League is undoubtedly on the Green where the ones welcome Brondesbury. Bron are currently six points behind the Ts (see here) and a win for either side will go a long way towards securing safety. Indeed, if the Ts win then they will be mathematically secure and able to start the planning for 2019. Defeat and they can still stay up, but their fate will be out of their hands going in to the final week.

The seconds travel to Highgate knowing that the greatest of great escapes is still on. Eugene Berger's men are 12 points behind Acton (see here) but last week's amazing one run triumph against champions-elect North Middlesex (see here) has kept the dream of salvation alive.

The thirds are also going all out to try and pull off their very own great escape. Steve Watts's side welcome promotion-chasing Brondesbury to St Mary's. One win out of two and they may well stay up. Two wins out of two and they almost certainly will. See here for the current state of affairs.

The fourths are the only one of the Twickenham sides that definitely won't be going either up nor down. They remain safely ensconced in mid-table in the 1987 League's Division Two (see here). Their penultimate game of the campaign is against fellow mid-tabellers, Harrow 3s.

The fifths know that two wins out of two and they stay up (see here for the table). They can be sure of that as Hampstead 5s have cried off against Richmond and have a free week in Week 18. So, if the Ts can beat Alexandra Park today and then Kenton next week they, too, will have pulled off their own version of the Great Escape.
