Captain Charlie won the toss and elected to bowl first in this friendly fixture against local rivals Moormead. Having come close in recent weeks without getting over the line, this presented Twickenham with an excellent opportunity to return to winning ways.

Charlie opened the bowling and finished with impressive figures of 1 for 12, while Rory took the new ball for the first time and immediately demonstrated his newly acquired ability to swing the ball in to the right-handed batters.

Twickenham did not make the best of starts in the field. A succession of dropped catches and misfields suggested another difficult day might be in store, while Moormead opener Josh Simons took full advantage with a brisk 25 from just 26 balls.

Thankfully, this proved to be only a brief setback. Twickenham's bowlers soon found their rhythm, with Ted Aldred claiming his sixth wicket of the season after Connor Thompson held an excellent catch at deep midwicket.

Two more wickets fell in the following over from Orson Hill before Connor Thompson produced an outstanding spell, finishing with three wickets for just five runs.

Alfie Fernandez also bowled with excellent control, taking two wickets in the 13th over to end with figures of 2 for 8. Freddie Homewood was the other wicket-taker as Twickenham wrapped up the Moormead innings.

Despite the early lapses, the fielding improved dramatically as the innings progressed, with several excellent individual performances. Connor capped a superb all-round display by adding two catches and a run out to his three wickets. Charlie, Rory and Orson also took catches as Twickenham dismissed Moormead for 76. Just as pleasing was the discipline shown with the ball, with only 42 extras conceded—comfortably below the team's target of 50.

Twickenham made a confident start to the run chase as Freddie and Kit put on an opening partnership of 27. Kit produced one of the shots of the day with a beautifully timed cover drive.

Rory and Ted then kept the scoreboard moving, with Rory finishing as the top scorer on 17, including four well-struck boundaries.

Alfie continued the momentum with an entertaining 13, finding the boundary four times with some powerful leg-side stroke play. Alongside Arthur they shared a partnership of 36 runs for the loss of one wicket.

Charlie and James also batted positively. Charlie struck three boundaries during an attacking 16th over, while James contributed a valuable seven runs, showing excellent awareness and running between the wickets.

Having already starred with the ball and in the field, Connor Thompson rounded off an outstanding all-round performance by adding an unbeaten 11 in a solid partnership with Orson, who also found the boundary.

There were encouraging signs throughout the innings, with improved technique, better shot selection and noticeably sharper running between the wickets across the team. Those improvements were rewarded with a well-deserved victory as Twickenham got back to winning ways.
