With Richmond A flying high in the division above our U11s it was always going to be a tough proposition to progress in the Cup this year. Richmond A won the toss and decided to bat first. Twickenham went about their business of bowling tight and being sharp in the field to keep Richmond restricted in scoring. After 8 overs Richmond had only made it to 25 runs and the pressure told as the opening pair went for a quick single that wasn't on and Olli effected a calm run out. Twickenham continued to apply the pressure with Danny and Frankie taking wickets in the 10th over and 13th over respectively. Richmond kept positive, and with a couple of the remaining overs where the runs did start to flow, manged to finish on 111-4.
Richmond A started their bowling with pace and accuracy and rarely let up. Runs were tough to get and a times it was hard to keep out fast bowling that was being helped by the grass wicket. Olli, Frankie, Sammy and Max all fell early leaving Twickenham at 26-4 by the end of the forth over. Asa came to the wicket to join Hamish and both batted patiently and solidly for the next 7 overs. Runs remained difficult to come by but Twickenham's batsmen were determined not to be blown away. This continued as both Asa and Hamish succumbed to straight and fast bowling. Sean, Samuel, Dlair, Danny and Luca saw out the remaining overs, with Danny scoring a fantastic four with a drive between point and cover, to make sure that Twickenham batted out their 20 overs.
A defeat for Twickenham but a performance to be incredible proud of.
