Lightning does srike twice!

U13 narrowly defeated again
After last weeks close match, it went down to the wire again.
On a very hot early evening Ts lost the toss and were put into the field and started brightly with James running out the opener and restricting the hosts to only 16 off 5 overs. But the rustiness was still there with some loose bowling and some misfields saw the score start to rise. Ollie, standing in a wicket keeper, was unlucky not to remove the other opener after he flashed and nicked it behind, a full length dive which saw the ball drop as he hit the ground.With some tight bowling by Asa and Arthur in the middle overs started to slow the rate down but then some more loose bowling, misfields and dropped catches saw the score rise to 130 before Arthur struck three times in the 18th over. A quick flourish in the 19th and 20th overs saw TTCC reach 156 before Asa struck with the last ball on the innings.
Ts set about the target with great gusto with Capt. Asa and Ollie on the front foot from the off before Ollie fell in the four over with the score on 31. Danny joined Asa and continued where Ollie left off and both batted superbly with Asa again leading from the front scoring a plethora of fours before a hesitant run saw him out by the smallest margins for a fantastic 53 off 40 balls and Danny (25) fell straight after with the score on 101. James and Thomas joined headed to the crease but James was to head back to the hutch with only one added to the total. Wabi (9) promoted from u12s joined Thomas (18) and they continued to attack before they both fell with the score on 138, with just over four overs to go. Leo came and went which left Arthur and Shay to bring home the victory. Needing 12 to win off the last over they scored two off the first ball but then some tight bowling and only a bye on the last ball left Ts 8 short when victory was well within the grasp.
Great fight on the batting front and some tightening needed in the fielding. Thanks as always to the parents for their support and James H for taking over the scoring.
Roll on Hampton Wick and another tricky away game on Wednesday night
