The Twickenham Sunday eleven were on their travels on Sunday 26th May as they took on Kingstonian CC.

With the opposition light on numbers Twickenham were given the opportunity to have first dibs. Fresh from his misdemeanors the night before Dom Thamby was given the opportunity to open the innings with the youngest Johnson. Twickenham got off to a brisk start as Thamby played some very stylish shots and also survived the rigorous sledging from a TCC player who made a guest appearance for the opposition. Thamby went onto score 54 and was ably assisting by some decent knocks from Mark Johnson, Praween Siriwardena and a rather much refreshed Nakul Vishvanath. Twickenham managed to post a very competitive 208-5 in their allotted 35 overs.

The chase for Kingstonians began well as Rohit and Gill were building solid foundations. Once Gill perished after a sharp return catch from Hinay Dassani what followed after was quite remarkable. Despite surviving a very adjacent LBW shout first ball, the big hitting Kash managed to crack 90 odd in the space of no time and in particular took Praween Siriwardena for 40 in 2 overs.

Skipper Paul Johnson tried every trick in the book to break the partnership by throwing the ball to Nakul Vishvanath, Dom Thamby and Pushtak but the brutal hitting from Kash and the nonchalance from Rohit helps Kinstonians reach their target with 9 overs to spare. This also led to one of our own TCC players suffer a 26 over pad rash whilst representing the opposition.

It was a very good game of cricket played in the right spirits. A game dominated by one spectacular innings and worthy of winning any game of cricket.
