Another Sunday, another day when the weather was set fair. As ever, the Green looked splendid. This time round it was the turn of Twickenham's MDL team to show off their skills as they welcomed Wycombe House. In excess of 100 spectators were there to enjoy the fare.

Having lost the toss and been put in the field, the bowlers got to work restricting the opposition. With wickets steadily being taken and the bowlers doing their job, especially Dom ‘I’m not losing my hair’ Thamby, who narrowly missed out on a hat trick having taken 2 in 2 balls, Wycombe House ended up with a below par 175. The bowling and fielding unit had done a great job.

After losing an early wicket, a 60 plus 2nd wicket partnership fired the team well ahead of the run rate. Ajmal Allahdad was hitting the ball to all parts whilst Kev Cavilla opted for the steady approach. He added 2. However, the kA-dog was not to be outdone and launched a huge 6 over mid off to give the chase even more impetus.

At this point an early beer was on the cards, but more drama was to come. Losing wickets in clusters (with a few people throwing their wickets away), it came down to Twickenham needing 13 runs with just 1 wicket in hand.

In walked Ozzie Qavi at number 11. Three late cuts perfectly placed between 1st slip and the keeper, all of which reached the boundary, left the scores tied. One needed to win with the crowd on the edge of their seats. A quick single was taken to the keeper who fumbled the ball; first slip picked the ball up and threw the stumps down. Qavi ran, dived as if his tinder career relied on him getting in .... and made it home.

A majestically dramatic way to secure the Ts' first MDL win of the season.
